Solarpunk Enterprises builds the tools for forests to represent themselves in the global economy. Solarpunk Forest in Costa Rica is our first project, and the model is designed to scale to forests anywhere.
We envision a future where nature is not just protected but empowered as an active stakeholder in the global economy. Ecosystems (forests, water bodies, biodiversity and climate regulators) are recognised for the essential services they provide to life on Earth, not just their extractive value.
In this future, technology enhances the natural world, amplifying our ability to protect, regenerate and integrate ecosystems into decision-making. Instead of exploitation, economic and environmental interests are aligned, creating a system where nature and society thrive together.
Through the thoughtful use of human knowledge and existing transformative technologies, we can build self-sustaining ecological and economic systems: not for immediate personal gain, but for the long-term resilience of both people and the planet.
To build the bridge between the voiceless and the powerful. To take what is natural, silent and sacred, and give it legal, digital and economic agency, in a system that only listens when money speaks.
We are transforming how nature is valued and protected, beginning with forests, the lungs of our planet. By assigning forests digital identities, we enable them to become autonomous participants in the global economy. Forests are then seen not just as resources, but as economic actors that generate demand for services, create employment and drive sustainability.
This marks a shift from resource-driven exploitation to dynamic ecological integration, where forests actively shape and take part in the financial and governance systems that affect them. We don't see capital as the goal, but as a means to connect people, organisations and nature.
Granting forests a digital identity enables them to take part in the global economy and be recognised for the essential environmental services they provide.
Protecting and preserving forest ecosystems by generating financial support from the natural services they provide, like clean air, carbon storage and biodiversity.
Helping organisations meet their environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals by compensating for their environmental impact through the purchase of ecosystem services.
Engaging local communities in regenerative work by paying them for conservation and stewardship, with compensation drawn directly from the value of the ecosystems they help protect.
Two people who left the corporate world to listen to a forest.

We have been united as a couple for more than two decades, our bond strengthened by a shared thirst for knowledge and a spirit of innovation. For 15 years we worked as project and product managers in the financial and supply chain industries, navigating complex projects and honing our skills.
As time went on, our hearts found a different calling: the quiet voice of the forest, steering us towards forest conservation. Now we dedicate our lives to protecting it, embracing a cause much larger than ourselves. Our past experience shapes our resolve and helps us contribute meaningfully to a greener, more sustainable world.
Our initiative started in July 2023. It promotes a shift from exploitation to sustainable coexistence, ensuring the long-term viability of critical ecosystems. Through education, advocacy and direct action, we strive to make this vision real for all, for generations to come.
Solarpunk is a movement that envisions a bright, optimistic future powered by renewable energy, where technology is used for the good of the planet and everyone on it. It imagines a world where humans live in harmony with nature, blending sustainability with functionality and beauty.
Our work follows its four principles:
Solarpunk Enterprises is not yet a registered company. It is the initiative of Camelia and Dacian Brandas, who developed the concept and finance the pilot privately. A legal entity will be set up as the project moves towards funding.
